I did take quite a bit of time going through and comparing the new and old chip and the only thing that changed was the new chip allows inputs 1,3,4,5,8 to choke with the cymbal pads. It is kind wierd being able to choke a Hihat pad though. I guess that is why Yamaha fixed it on the Dtxpress III module. If you set the input no. 8 trigger to pad > type RHH130 (the new hihat pad), it will disable the choking feature on > input 8.
