Hello Bob.. page 60 of DTxpress manual...."layer balance can be used when a drum voice assigned to a midi note number is made up of 2 layers (a single note consisting of two voice waves), this function sets the volume balance between those 2 layers...." So my best guess is that up to 2 voices may be assigned to one midi note number....a stereo trigger, (using a stereo cable and stereo trigger input), would double that capability, giving four voice waves, each with their own assignable velocities, to be triggered from one stereo pad.... hope this helps..
