Hi all, I'm going to get a set of e-drums to work with Cubase and specifically, A0 DK1 drum pluggin. For those that don't know, DK1 supports up to four samples a note triggered by velocity 0-127 (ie. sample 1/vel 0, sample 2/vel 40, sample3/vel 80, sample4/vel 120 etc..). Can anyone tell me if DTXpress will allow this level of playability? Thanks in advance, Bob Russom

Hello Bob.. page 60 of DTxpress manual...."layer balance can be used when a drum voice assigned to a midi note number is made up of 2 layers (a single note consisting of two voice waves), this function sets the volume balance between those 2 layers...." So my best guess is that up to 2 voices may be assigned to one midi note number....a stereo trigger, (using a stereo cable and stereo trigger input), would double that capability, giving four voice waves, each with their own assignable velocities, to be triggered from one stereo pad.... hope this helps.. As far as i know, the DTXpress will trigger any sound source as long as it's connected via MIDI. The DTXpress should send all the right MIDI information as the pads are all velocity sensitive. If the plugin is a VST plugin, beware of latency which will trigger the sounds after u play the pad. The best way around this is to play your drum track into cubase using an onboard kit for reference, then change the MIDI output in cubase to trigger your plug in. Hope this helps. Lovesign, >The DTXpress should send all the right MIDI information as the pads are all velocity sensitive. Thanks, this is the info I was looking for. Latency will not be an issue as I have a Delta 1010 running @ 13ms.
