Re: [DTXpress] Behringer BX600

2004-02-12 by Michael Lieberman

Hello Ken,
I have owned the DTexpress 1 for 4 years, and have been playing in a party band, which can be a little loud for about 18 months, previously played drums for about 30 years in some indi rock band.
I purchased the B300, not the b600. It has bigger amplification and the sound is what I would consider as adequate.
Any smaller power amplifiers would clip when using bass drum and deep floor toms together when playing.
The B300 is a more robust and a simpler unit to use and play with.
But it is very heavy for its size. It has the 15" woofer and horn which gives the frequency response to cover the E drum range.
You can link another B300 to gain even greater sound pressure and ease the load on a single unit, but have not seen as necessary.
The B300 is more expensive than the B600 though.
Regards
Mike

I would also be interested in other opinions on this amp because, as I said, I have the option to return it for credit towards a keyboard amp.

Our friend Ken swears that this little 60 watt, $140 bass amp does
the job with the DTXpress. Now I'm intrigued, if not a little
skeptical. Could someone who has access to it please confirm or
respectfully disagree. McCongahy, I hate to put you on the spot, but
do you have any time to connect this amp to an ekit at GC and see
what's going on?
