Ed,
I'm selling off the kit that I have been using
to a mechanical engineer friend at work and that is where the previous question
on trigger setting comes from. Also... Is there another input on the DTXII
module that will produce the rim sound for the Pintech snare beside
9/10? He would kind of like to leave that input free for other things if
possible. I decided to hold on to the DTXtreme module, just in case I feel
the need to expand the ddrum4 kit, which is supposed to be delivered tomorrow.
Thanks for your reply.

Jim,
I may not be getting exactly what you want, but I remember having my
best luck setting the pad types to the "DT" options, the trigger
setup to DT10/20 (which eventually evolved into a user setting), and
the relevant DIP "attentuation" (a misnomer) switches on the back of
the module to the high position. Gain, min. velocity, rejection, etc.
varied with a pad's position on the rack and its desired response.
The dynamic range of the Pintechs through the DTXpress is not to
everyone's liking; some people complain that it shortchanges the
lighter touch. Insertion of 200k pots between the pads and the
module's inputs may help. Brian LaRue told me that Pintech may
consider adding a sensitivity adjustment on its pads themselves to
tame the high gain with Yamaha modules.
