If the kit that you found for $775 is a DTXpressI, and you have enough money, buy the III. Apart from the risks that always apply to buying something used, the III has better cymbal voices, three-sound capability for cymbals and snare instead of two, a more collapsible rack, and maybe another thing or two that I can't remember. If the kit that you found is a DTXpress II in decent condition, and you need to save money, you could certainly do worse. The standard version of the III kit is not so different from the II, except for then new improved cymbals, which we can't profile for you yet. The IIISP is an entirely different story. If money were no object, that's the one I'd recommend. Ed
