Yes. Both OGD and I use a PCY65S as a hi-hat pad and like it a lot.
Much better shaped area for a hat.

I would have been concerned if you'd said a PCY80S, as I don't think
the rim switch in the 80S is up to it - I have broken two in a year
(though I did buy them well-used on eBay). However the 60 is mono so
you should be fine.

Only issue you may have is rotation if you didn't get an L-rod with
your cymbal. But as it's a hat, you can clamp it fairly tight.
