Re: DTXpress II or III

Mark,

I was hoping you weren't going to ask that!

I dearly love my Dtxpress but after 4 good years of Yamaha I'm going
to take out a 2nd mortgage and give the Vdrum TD20s a try.

Thomann's were very exact about delivery dates... they said 'not even
Roland know' (!) so at least they're honest about it.

From past experience (including when I bought my chromed steel
Premier Resonator kit in 1979 which took 6 months to come) I just
wait and see with delivery dates from all drum manufacturers.

If it's any help, for Yamaha gear I've always driven (200 miles) down
to Chappel of Bond St. at Milton Keynes - the drum guys seem
straight, and I think they might even be part of the Yamaha UK
organisation.

I have regular dealings with a Bavarian company in my day job so I'm
fairly comfortable ordering from Thomanns - the shop is in a village
near Bamberg (which I know from holidays - big beer drinking area :) -
'big shop, small village' Thomann's staff say.

It's not as good as being able to walk into your local shop if
something doesn't work - but how many of us still have a local drum
shop? ... and the prices are excellent.

There's probably a down side somewhere - more pressure on UK shops I
suppose.

Sorry for a long-winded non-answer.

regards,
Will
