I went e-drum shopping with a neigbor for his 9yr old son yesterday. The first place we went had DTXpress 1 which has been a floor model for over 2 years. I thought we would get a bit of a deal on it considering they also have a DTXtreme, DTXpress 3-SD and a 3-SP. (Not to mention many Rolands and a Pintech as well) Once we finally got a sales guy to get off the TD-10 and give us a hand, he said the Xpress is priced at $1200 CAN. Only $200 less than the new Xpress 3-SD! No pedal, no throne and this guy wouldn't budge. We ended up going to another store and getting a brand new Roland DM- 3 for the same price ($1200) and this guy is going to throw in a cheap pedal and throne! I tried my best to keep him in the Yammy family but failed :( Mabey the first guy wasn't allowed to give any deals or mabey he just wanted to get back to his personal jam session but you would think they'd want the old floor model off of the floor to make some room for new stuff!
