hi, Personaly I use a cable which links the joystick port of my sound card to the midi input and midi output of the dtxpress brain(it is the same as Michael) and i use Dumpster to export and import downloads, or saved files. Dumpster can be downloaded in the archive of the group. I think that the use of midi cable is more comfortable because you will be able to play midi files from your pc on the dtxpress and record them, or you can record midi drum pattern with midi softwares. Besides the midi use is very easy because it is an international standard. (when i was looking for cables, i was told that using the to host port was more difficult because of the need of drivers, etc...). But maybe portables don t have joystick port....i don t know. So try to find another pc (not portable). Otherwise i saw midi interface you can plug on a USB port, but it is maybe too expensive if you only want to download kits on your dtxpress brain, and i don't know very much of these interfaces. Is there anyone who knows?
