Here is what I got from Peter on the same issue - it solved my problem. The DTExpress needs to be hooked up to midi ports - and the program expects a MIDI IN - so this fix helps run it without midi connected...... GAry, It's been a while since I looked at the code but I suspect that the program looks for MIDI interfaces and expects to find at least 1, in which case it's sloppy error trapping on my part. If that is the problem the quick fix would be to load something like MIDI Yoke which will give you a few "software" MIDI interfaces.
