Hi Jono,

Here's one set of answers. I haven't heard anything more about when 
components from the new kits will go on sale individually. You might 
shoot an email to Ed Morin at Drumbalaya; he might have more of an 
idea by now. 

The DTXPIII, like its predecessors, has two extra mono inputs, 
accessed through a single jack labeled 9/10. You can't use them in 
any configuration to get both sounds from one of Yamaha's "stereo" 
cymbals (or pads); only the main piezo of a stereo cymbal will fire. 
But you can add a true dual-zone cymbal, with a bell (e.g., a Visu-
lite), into input 9/10 with a stereo cable. Then, however, you 
wouldn't have any room for another mono tom. A mono cymbal and tom 
would work fine in 9/10. You also might be able to move a mono pad 
from inputs 3, 4, or 5 to 9/10 so that you could add a new stereo 
cymbal to the vacated input. Maybe somebody can confirm. 

I don't want to get ahead of the game, but if Keith's magic box 
proves to be viable, more opportunities to expand inputs are on the 
way. Stay tuned.

The DTXPU module should be able to handle the fast double kicks.
