'I am not sure that gain=99 is a good idea. Strange things can happen, particularly on the toms where you can get "aftershock" triggers due to the natural resonance on those pads.' You're right about the resonances and I think this is what's causing the crosstalk. However, the Gain is high because I want to be able to play VERY quietly on the pad and still get a sound. A gain of 70 just doesn't work for me as I'm using light sticks. (try doing a very quiet double stroke roll with a gain of 70 to see what I mean). I have reduced it to 90 and it seems to have fixed all the problems. 'I don't think MVel does anything unless you are outputting data on the midi interface.' MVel sets the minimum MIDI Velocity that is transmitted when the pad is hit the weakest. Since the onboard tone generator responds to MIDI, this is reflected in the actual volume of the hit in the speaker output. 'You might want to try on of the LOUD velocity curves on the ride to make it a bit more punchy without a gain of 99.' Good idea. Hadn't thought of that. Loud 1 & 2 seem to work quite nicely. Thanks for your help. Giles.
