Yes, they are all 1.5" racks. You can also use other 1.5" rack parts 
like Gibraltar, Dixon, Stagg, and so on.

It rather depends what you mean by "connect the brains". Connect 
how? The easiest connection would be a simple audio that "mixes" the 
outputs from the two brains.

The biggest issue you will have is crosstalk - you should aim to 
isolate pads connected to either brain to the same rack section. If 
you have two pads on the same section that connect to different 
modules, there's not much you can do with rejection.
