fatal info

Hi all!
i am sorry to confess that a local store gave the cheapest price for
a td-20 set even from the newer yamahas and the net,i am going to
hesitate and buy the second baby. (besides my dtxpress 2 kit)

1)are yamaha racks compatible with rolands'?

2)what kind of problems i am going to face when a connect the brains?

3)does any of you have any setup ideas?!

Thanx for your precious ideas and experiences...

Yes, they are all 1.5" racks. You can also use other 1.5" rack parts
like Gibraltar, Dixon, Stagg, and so on.

It rather depends what you mean by "connect the brains". Connect
how? The easiest connection would be a simple audio that "mixes" the
outputs from the two brains.

The biggest issue you will have is crosstalk - you should aim to
isolate pads connected to either brain to the same rack section. If
you have two pads on the same section that connect to different
modules, there's not much you can do with rejection.

The only "electronic" way to prevent crosstalk between modules is to
sacrifice a input trigger on each module and buy some mono/stereo Y-
splitter cables. You can then setup specific rejection settings
between the offending pads. I had to do this when I setup a
PCY10/PCY65S as a three zone hihat pad and controlled them both via a
single HH65 pedal.

But the simplest way, like Stewart pointed out is to isolate pads on
different sections of the rack.

First of all thanx for your sincereness. That is my second mail and
the two flagships didn't leave me alone ;)

my idea is just connecting one brain to the other through the aux.
input (i think it is possible???)as an ordinary device. But concerning
about the responses;lack of sound quality,never-ending hymmmns,etc.

And in an objective view;the best thing i know is,i know nothing
about the midi. Can you suggest me some books or sites which will lead
the way.i couldn't achieve to find any 'piece to the mouth' in the
country and to many dishes on the net.
