MIDI Mapping - Need your help

MIDI Mapping - Need your help

2004-09-08 by EDrum For Free

Hey all,
I did read Yamaha manuals in order to find some info about DTX series default MIDI mapping. But it doesn't appear in it. I really need this info, but don't own any Yamaha modules myself.
Could someone please help me and write wich default notes are assigned to each pad/rim ?
Thanx a lot ;)
PFozz

Thanx Claude ;)
I took a look at the manual and if the module meets the GM standard, the default values should be something like this :
Input 1 - Kick : 36=C2
Input 2 - Snare : 38=D2 (normal) / 37=C#2 (sidestick) / 40=E2 (Rimshot)
Input 3 - Tom1 : ??? (may vary)
Input 4 - Tom2 : ??? (may vary)
Input 5 - Tom3 : ??? (may vary)
Input 6 - Ride : 51=D#3 (Bow) / 53=F3 (Bell) / ? (Edge)
Input 7 - Crash : 49=C#3
Input 8 - HiHat : 42=F#2 / 44=G#2 / 46=A#2
Input 9 - ???
Input 10 - ???
Are those values the default ones ?
Could you please tell me those I'm missing ('???') ?
Thanx so much,
PFozz
(et en français, Merci beaucoup Claude, ces infos me sont réellement précieuses ^^)

Hello,
I just uploaded a file to the groupe with the MIDI notes for each pad and layer ( 2 layer/ voices per pad) for external triggering or receiving notes.
Hope it helps

Thank you so much, Claude !
Exactly what I needed to know ;)
This info will help me to make files that will help DTXPressIII users to use DrumKit From Hell Superior the easy way.
The 1.3 version will be released very soon, as announced on KVR ;)
Cheers,
PFozz

Hi Lem,

The Yamaha and Roland hi hat controllers work on slightly different
principles. Call or e-mail one of the staff at drumbalaya.com
(contact info is on the site) to get yourself the proper adaptor to
make your FD-8 work.
