This DTXchange thing? ...Wha?... :o

This DTXchange thing? ...Wha?... :o

Happy Thanks Giving to all:)

This DTXchange I've read, and if I understand correctly (probably
not though) is able to download more kits to your computer, then
load it into your drum module?

But what does this really mean? Do I get more sounds of different
drum samples? Or does this mean that other users have selected the
existing DTXpress samples and have arrange them into 'their'
prefered kit with their own choice of snare, kick, hats, etc...? If
the later, I'm not sure I see the point as I can scroll through the
samples fpr each pad myself to choose my own desired kit. In fact I
do this often!
Now if this all means 'new' sampled sounds, then hell yes, I want!

Con' sumbud splain' ere?

Steve,

Short answer: DTXchange allows you to back up your data in case of
battery failure or the need to reset the module, which would erase
all user parameters. It also allows you to store any kits that won't
fit into your user slots. The ability to exchange kits with other
people eliminates the need to copy all of their settings into your
module by hand, which would be tedious to say the least. But, as you
seem to understand, you are limited to data specific to your
particular module type; the DTXpress will not process external
samples of any kind.

Ah! Great, thanks Ed,

More or less as I suspected. But I didn't think about the
saving/backing-up user selected kits. Makes sence! This is something
that I may want to explore. Mainly for back-up purposes at least,
though I may want to experiment with the exchange with other user's
kits aspect...?
I DO have (besides my DTXpress 1 & 3 brain/modules) an Alesis DM Pro
module, which I understand CAN load samples into the brain/module.
I've not figured out how to even use the DM pro! "Eh"...Another
subject entirely though!

Thanks again Ed, :) Steve
