KP60 - Drumhead Patches

KP60 - Drumhead Patches

2005-03-02 by bongokonzelmann

Dear all,

as quite recently reported I suffered from that well-known wear
problem of the rubber surface of the KP60 kicktower. Yamaha Germany
replaced it under guarantee. - Well, to avoid that to happen a second
time I posted a note to this forum and the recommendations was to glue
a selfmade patch on the pad, e.g. soemthing cut of of a mousepad or
similar.

In a catalogue I now saw drumhead patches for acoustic drum sets/nylon
heads made by EVANS and Danmar. They seem to have a size of 4-5" and
have some adhesive tape on the backside to stick on the head. Price 5
bucks each.

Does anybody have experience with those?

Regards -Bongo-

Bongo,

These patches are popular and will do the trick. A minor problem is
that some of them won't stick to the rubber on the kick pad. You may
have to use something like Shoo-goo etc. to supplement the adhesive.

Ricardo,

You might well be our first member from Chile, and we are delighted
to have you with us. We look forward to learning about how electronic
drums are used and received in South America.
