Well, here goes, I bet I am goinmg to regret this. This is my second gig with the DTx 3. Small venue and camera was quite close to the band so sound is a bit distorted. Hope to get a better quality clip in the future. http://homepage.ntlworld.com/aeron.kirczey/transfer/Mustang% 20Sally.wmv

Link worked fine for me.. all I can say is LOUDER DRUMS!! :) I used to have a T-shirt that said "More ME in the monitor!" though... ;) Good job! looks like you're having fun, and thats what counts! I agree with Vern, more drums but more vocals, too. Hey, a question: I noticed that you seem to have adopted the Charlie Watts style of not hitting the hi hat and snare simultaneously. Was it because of a shared purist sensibility, or because snare and hi hat sometimes refuse to play nicely together? (I deleted my original reply, because I couldn't remember the exact time signature that you were playing. Apparently, 4/4 and its variations are too complicated for me.) Ed

It was a very small venue. The automatic volume level control in the camcorder would close down the volume often, you may notice that during portions of less vocals and less guitar, the drums come through much louder and this is how it sounded live. Recorded the whole gig but want to do a better job, perhaps I will try in a practise session to get the recording better. As you may recall, I have been having trouble with the snare not triggering, after pointing all external speakers etc. away from the snare and tinkering with rejection settings, it seems to have been sorted out. I think I may also have been suffering with the wedge monitor that I was using having difficulty in producing all the sounds at the same time (if that's possible) because when I go through the main PA all sounds fine. The most recent thing I have noticed is that the open hihat sound is too quiet, hence not hitting snare and open hihat together. I have now increased the volume on the open hihat so next gig should be better. Aeron

I remember recording practices in the early 80s on a portable cassette deck with a built-in condensor mic. Every so often the automatic limiter would kick in and change everything. God, we were happy with it at the time. But we finally got a Studiomaster four- track board, which was unbelievably good. I wish Studiomaster still made something at that level. > > As you may recall, I have been having trouble with the snare not > triggering, after pointing all external speakers etc. away from the > snare and tinkering with rejection settings, it seems to have been > sorted out. I wonder if the Bose PAS would help to minimize the effect of sound waves from monitors on the DTXpress (and DTXtremeIIS). Maybe I'll be able to tell. I will be using a DTXpressII module, in addition to ddrum, in my audition. I've already had an inquiry from a business in the UK about getting the rights to sell the PAS there (even though I don't work for the company, only have contact with the PAS designer). Maybe sometime in the not too distant future edrummers will get a chance to try it out for themselves. Ed

It worked. Sound was slight better this time, though we still need to give the drummer some. Nice flourish at the end. Man, are you nonchalant. Thanks for posting the clips. Ed
