E-Drum Sticks

2005-03-22 by nickmela2005

Was watching the Tony Verderosa DVD and he uses these cool black
sticks. He seems to get great action from them. Does anyone know what
type of sticks are best to use with these e-drums ??

I like the Zildjian anti-vibe sticks. Carbosticks aren't bad either -
they also naturally damp down stick vibrations.

There was a discussion about anti-vibe sticks earlier, and as a result
I bought a set of Ahead sticks.

I wasn't convinced. I found them less easy to grip (although I hadn't
had lessons then so that could easily have been me), and the place
where the top part connects to the bottom part has a sharp edge
exactly where you want to grip them.

I bought their gripper tape. That gave me blisters, then one of the
tapes came off.

Finally, after about three months of playing (at most an hour a day),
and remember with our kits there are no cymbals, and no rims to hurt
the sticks, one snapped in half. Well, at \ufffd24 a time or so, that
wasn't expected.

So, I'm currently in unhappiness mode with Ahead sticks and I'm back
to really light (7A) wooden ones.

John,

Speak to Newcastle drum centre & get yourself some Zildjian Anti-vibes.

Keith.
