RE: Spam:[DTXpress] dtexpress III midi

Chat, You cannot add any sounds to any of the Dtxpress I/II/III modules. The only Yamaha module you can "add" sampled sounds to is the Dtxtreme IIS module. Using MIDI, you can only trigger sounds that already existing inside the Dtxpress module. If you trigger notes from another module and pass them to the Dtxpress module, you will only have the sounds that already exist inside the module. Going the other direction, if you just using the Dtxpress module as a triggering device and send the MIDI notes to a second module, the only sounds that you end up with are sounds that already exists in that second module you are triggering. As Ed has said, currently the only module that exists today that you can "add" sounds to are the Dtxtreme IIs and the DDrum module. The other option is adding a dedicated sampler or go with a Computer based software that is triggered from the Dtxpress module. OGD ________________________________

Which I have turned into the special by adding a RHH-130 and another PCY-65S. They just fit in better with a acoustic kit. The module it self is whats in question? What im trying to find out in laymen terms is what can I do with midi concerning the dtxpress III. Can I download sounds into it or do I need to go with another module (dtxtreme II ,alesis dm5,roland td-20,ddrum ect.) and connect the two. I really want to use actual acoustic sounds for some venues when I play live. I've also upgraded to the roland kd-80 v-drum bass trigger and the yamaha rhh-130 hh. So thats another consideration as far as compatability goes. thanks again chat ______________________________________________________________________ This email has been scanned by the MessageLabs Email Security System.
