Output level issue

Output level issue

2005-04-20 by Frank Northcutt

I purchased my dtxpress III last weekend. The only issue I have with
it is the output level. I use it for home recording. The output runs
from the controller to my BR-864, stereo in. I had to raise the
trigger gains to max, and turn the pad volumes up high, and I still
need the recorder input sensitivity and input level quite high to get
a decent signal. The phone output on my DD-55 is pretty hot, so I
tried that on the dtxIII, and it was better, but not like the '55.
Has anyone else had issues with low output level? Any suggestions,
other than adding a preamp?

Thanks,
Frank

Frank,

Have you raised the master volume of the tone generator in the Utility
Mode? If that works, maybe you can back off the gain.

No, I haven't tried that, Ed. I'll give it a shot and let you know.

Thanks for the suggestion,
Frank

Also, in the utilities menu turn the playing mode from practice to
live. This will make a huge difference.
