Noob question....:(

Noob question....:(

2005-04-23 by Ernie Vega

I am trying to figure a few things out on my DTX ver. 2

All my pads and cymbals are dual zone(8 TP80S, 2 PCY80S, and padals etc..)

2 questions:

 1. Should the HH80A(Hi-Hat pedal)be plugged into a mono or stereo cable?

 2. I am able to use the rim shots(or the dual zone) on all my
TP80S's, but Ive had no luck with the PCY80S's. I am wanting to do a
fast-mute on the cymbal by grabbing the rim. Im not sure if its called
a choke,? But I think you guys know what im getting at. I cant any
reference in my DTX owners manual. It does mention its possible in
the PCY80S owners pamphlet. But I am unable to figure it out on the
DTX. Any help would be great.

Stereo cymbals choke. Make sure that you're using a stereo cable that
works and that you set the pad type on the cymbal inputs for stereo,
choking cymbals. They may be set now for monos.

I have checked both the cable and the PCY80s. What did you mean when
you wrote to set the pads for stereo? Is that a switch on the pad, or
in the DTX settings. Thanks for your help.

Ern,

In the menu, each input offers a range of pad types for connection.
The PCY80S should be listed. In the DTXpress, this setting is the
first stop in the Trigger Mode. It's been a while since I've seen the
DTX, but it may be called the same thng. If it still stumps you, visit
the Yahoo DTX Group for particulars.
