Am I invisible again?

Did I faux pas somehow? Why is no one acknowledging my
posts?

Maybe we don't know the answer (I certainly don't). Or maybe you
answered it yourself .. how hard do you hit them? :-) Nothing to say,
in other words.

1. my first guess would be that you recieved a defective pad. it
should still be under warranty....
2. or maby you inadvertently (sp?) messed up the trigger settings for
it. perhaps you should reset to the factory defaults and try that
(back up your custom data first)
3. or some other third thing...

John,

I've been trying to keep up with the technical questions during this
slow period. OGD picks them up when I'm too busy, and vice versa. He
is the expert on the Yamaha equipment. Anyway, I think that the board
is starting to suffer its customary lag during the warmer months,
though I expect that it will pick up at least a little.

Assuming that your cable is okay (try another stereo one), as you,
John, and Architiger said before me, you may have either whacked the
pad too hard and hurt the ribbon--if not the piezo--or messed up your
settings. If you haven't been programming indiscriminately, settings
probably aren't the problem. You didn't change pad type in the
trigger menu, did you? You might as well check. If you moved to a
type that doesn't support choking, you'd lose it, and some types
might not permit accurate triggering on the bow with your pad. Make
sure that you're on the right one.

Do you have an edge sound programmed on the pad, along with the
choke? If not, program one and see whether you can get it to work. If
not, and the bow sound works, then the ribbon switch would appear to
be damaged.

A pad that's failed within warranty probably merits a replacement.
Try your store first. If they give you a runaround, we'll give you a
contact. You'd probably do well not to hit so hard. Strength doesn't
pay dividends with e-drums after a point; the module should be doing
most of the work. You need exert only as much force as necessary to
reach peak dynamic range. You'll be surprised how easy that can be.

Thanks for the responses guys, didn't mean to be a
pain, just frustrated. I bought the set off of E Bay,
so a contact would be great. I need to figure out how
to play lighter, not only did I break my cymbal, I
tweaked my 40 y o back. Any tips to learn to how to
play lighter?

Thanks Guys,
John
