Hi all, just an introduction:

I'm a new DTXpressI owner - picked one up for a bargain just
yesterday! I'd been reading this forum for a few weeks while I was
shopping for a kit, and found it really useful for ideas.

I've only had a couple of hours to play around, so I don't know much
about the functions of my kit yet, but I'm looking to do some simple
things initially, like crossfade a bell onto my single-zone ride,
and maybe pull apart the hi-hat pedal (I have to mash it a bit to
close the hat, and the mechanism has some sideways movement). Any
suggestions would be much appreciated.

My use for the kit is just for home practice at the moment - I
started playing six months ago on a muffled-up acoustic kit, but
quickly outgrew it (it was a really old stencil kit), and started to
annoy the upstairs neighbours with my increasingly loud progress. :)
I imagine that I'll upgrade the snare and ride in a few months, but
the basic kit services my needs wonderfully at the moment.

This is a really great resource - I'm looking forward to reading
some more interesting posts.

Welcome. There is an adjustment on the front of the hi-hat pedal so
you don't have to press it down so hard. There are photos of most of
the components in bits in the photo section which may help.

Keith.
