Integrating the RHH130 into a DTXpress II System

Integrating the RHH130 into a DTXpress II System

2005-06-27 by jggallow

I bought a RHH130 to try to get a better feel and more consistent
sound with the Hi-Hat. I wasn't happy with the standard TP65 and
attempts to integrate a Pintech Zenbal cymbal were frustrating. So I
decided to stick with a Yamaha-produced pad and trust I'd find
satisfaction with it.

Has anyone else integrated it in their DTXpress II system? I seem to
be getting some inconsistent sound levels out of it, without making
many adjustments. Is the RHH130 a 2-layer or 3-layer pad? Any tips?

I would say at least 3 and probably more. When I took an RHH130 apart
a while back, it seemed clear that there were several contacts that
closed as the pedal progressively approached the closed position. I
don't remember exactly how many, but at least 5 or so seems to come to
mind.
