Built in Song Volume

Built in Song Volume

2005-06-30 by super_rd2000

Hi everyone, this is my first post and as I'm new to the forum
apologies if this has been posted before.

Recently bought a DTXpress III special and I'm pretty impressed apart
from one thing - the drum parts on the built in songs are far too
loud
compared to the sounds I generate when hitting the pads.

I can't work out how to adjust the volume of the drum part of the
song
independently. The manual isn't much help as it only explains how to
mute the drum part but that is not what I want to do - I only want to
reduce the volume.

If I adjust the main volume to make the drum parts of the built in
songs at an acceptable level then I can't hear what I am playing.

Anyone else having this problem. Any help would be greatly
appreciated.

By the way - great forum, loads of good info here.

As a new owner too, I'll lend my 2 cents worth...
You can adjust the overall song volume by using the ACCOMP VOL knob.
I set the volume of my drums to what I want using POWER/VOL knob,
then turn down the volume of the song using the ACCOMP VOL knob. If
you only want to decrease the volume of the song's drum part, I'm not
sure how to do that or if it's possible without turning down the
whole song. Maybe some more experienced users can enlighten us.

Thanks for the response Gregg.

I've tried adjusting the volume with the Accomp Vol knob however
this only seems to affect the musical accompaniment part of the song
and not the drum part. The drum part can only be adjusted using the
power/vol knob. If I adjust this so that the drum part of the song
is at an acceptable level then the volume from the pads is too low.

It's almost as if there is a missing volume control somewhere.
Frustrating to say the least!
