Yamaha DTXpress/DTXplorer/DTXtreme

Did you use a stereo cable to connect the HH65/RHH130? Also, don't step
on the pedal when you power on the module.

Hi everyone,

I just got a DTXpress 3 days ago. I set everything up and everything
works except for the hi-hat controller. There is no response from it
and the hi-hat remains the same whether the pedal stepped on or not.
After playing with it for a while, I found that when the hi-hat
controller is plugged into the , the hi-hat is closed, but when the
controller is not plugged in, the hi-hat is open. I'm not entirely
sure what's going it with it as this is my first electric drum set.
Can anyone offer any suggestions or help?

It's an HH60. I believe I have used a stereo cable, but I'm not 100%
sure as to what a stereo cable is. Is there any way to tell?

Alex,

A stereo cable jack has two black rings just beneath the metal tip; 
mono has only one.

Thank you very much, Ed. I was not using a stereo cable as the one I
had was connected to my snare. I plugged it in, and now every works.
