Kick on separate channel

Kick on separate channel

2005-10-11 by Jason Bayless

I've searched the messages, but must not be searching right. So, here
goes..
Is there an easy, fool-proof way of separating the kick output from
the rest of the sounds? I'd like to control the kick volume
separately on the mixer.
Thanks,
-Jason

interesting... that's exactly what we do!
the fool proof way of doing it is to hard pan the kick to the left, and ALL
other pads (including layers) to the right. Of course this means you get no
stereo field with the kit, because all the sounds effectively come out of
the mono channel but this is fine for live use.

That's perfect!! It's for a live setup, too. Thanks a million!!!!
