Welcome to the group. Any device that can be programmed with MIDI
note numbers will be able to access and play the sounds on the
DTXPress module. Go from MIDI Out on the DD55 to MIDI In on the DTX
(depending on how the DD55 operates, the reverse connection may also
have a function, but not necessarily). I won't go into detail here,
but first you have to find five unused MIDI numbers in the DTXpress
Utility menu and assign them to voices for the DD55's pads to play
(see Voice 5.1, p. 59). You'll be able to program them to your liking
(see pp. 60-61). Be forewarned, however, that once you've given your
selected voices their own permanent note numbers, they will be the
same in every user kit. (You'll notice that the voices in the
DTXpress kits normally don't have permanent MIDI note numbers; only
the inputs have permanent MIDI notes assigned to them. Input sounds
change from kit to kit, but not note numbers. Your DD55 voices will
remain the same whatever DTXpress kits you choose).
