Hi all,

I have finally got round to making a PCB for the "DTXpander". For
those who don't know what it is, it allows you to interface two piezos
to a module which really wants one piezo plus a rim switch. I
originally made it to make use of the unused dual inputs on the
DTXpress to increase the number of pads, but it seems it is also
useful for DIY edrums where it is more common to use two piezos rather
than a piezo and FSR. Also, to interface some of the Pintech drums to
the DTXpress requires such a signal conversion.

I have already posted the circuit so people can make their own
interface, but I know some people have had problems which generally
seem to be because not everyone is used to building electronic
circuits. If someone wants one building, I will make one for them for
£25 including VAT & delivery. I would not expect that to be an
economical price for the USA, but unless there is the demand I won't
be getting them made in China by the thousand :-( If anyone in the UK
(or Europe) wants one then email me. I have had 8 bare PCBs made, one
of which I will use for myself. The circuit is exactly the same as
the one I posted. There is a hole in the case lid so you can adjust
the potentiometer, and a jumper inside to bypass one of the diodes.

Sorry if this appears to be blatant advertising, but I am not going to
be making any money from this - just covering the costs of parts for
the unit, and hopefully the cost of the parts I have bought
experimenting with the various versions over the last 18 months.

Keith.
