Yamaha DTXpress/DTXplorer/DTXtreme

Hi all, 

Just wondering if there is a stand alone use for the hi hat controller 
input using a spare hi hat pedal?ie can you make it trigger a separate 
sound ( ie not one already asigned to another pad) using the pedal or 
get it to increment drum kits etc - if so how do you set it up?

Tony,

You can use it to trigger any sound.  One use is to get a double bass
pedal effect without a double bass pedal.  Just program up the footCl
voice the same as your kick drum voice.  I am not sure if it is
practical to use the hi-hat as well in this mode.  If so, you would
need to program the open and closed sounds the same (eg. both as the
closed sound).  On the odd occasions I have played around with it like
that I have used the ride cymbal instead of the hi-hat.
