Yamaha DTXpress/DTXplorer/DTXtreme

I just got a DTXpress III SE and am loving it.  One question though:  
If I go to the Voice menu, most of the time when I hit a pad, say the 
kick for example, it says "IN=kick".  When I hit the high hat it 
always says "IN=open" or "IN=openR" even if the high hat controller is 
closed.  It sounds like it plays the closed or closedR voice though.  
Is this just the way it works?

No, you should see Close and CloseR as well.  It will only show the
"Close" display when the HH pedal is fully down - intermediate
settings will still show "Open".  It sounds like have not got it set
up properly to get the fully closed sound.

You are right.  I had to switch the trigger settings.  The manual 
mentions this but I was confused by it for a bit.  Thanks for 
leading me in the right direction.
