On stage interference

On stage interference

2007-02-06 by john@johnallsopp.co.uk

Hi ppl

When I told my local music shop owner, who is a drummer, I'd bought a
DTXpress he said "have you tried playing it live?" Now, two, maybe
three years on, I'm starting to see what he means.

Last night I played a gig and I kept getting missed hits on the
hi-hat. That hadn't happened before, and I put it down to it being
close to a combo I was using as a monitor, so I turned it down a bit,
moved away a bit and it got better.

But, it seems, the riot of noise at the back of a stage is prone to
interfere with the triggers. I've had this before on stage. I'd rather
it didn't.

Anyone got any advice for me? Have you solved this problem?

J

hy j i have the same problem at my church, the bass
combo is totaly f... my high hat , my proble is mostly
because i have the pad on a single stand , the gain is
99 :) , you could try increasing the rejection level
of the pad , or lowering the gain => less sensibility

rejection did it for me
