Snare rim 2 getting rim 1 click

Snare rim 2 getting rim 1 click

2007-02-08 by doxxon3

Using stock settings on my DTXIII with the TP65S, I'm get rim 2 sounds
on rim 1, which I am sure I'm striking. It happens occasionally, but is
becoming more frequent. My kit is only about 5 mo. old so I wouldn't
think anything is loose in there. I couldn't find anything in archives
on this...anyone had this issue?

Both the rims use a switch, with the rim 2 switch having a 10k
resistor in series with it. If you are getting rim2 sounds from rim
1, it suggests the rim has a higher resistance than it should have.
This could be due to a bad connection (or cable) or, more likely, a
faulty rim switch. As it is fairly new it would be worthwhile getting
it swapped under warranty after eliminating the cable as a possible cause.

Keith.

Thanks Keith, I will do that.
