How do you recording directly into 4-track DAW with DTXpress w/o using MIDI?

How do you recording directly into 4-track DAW with DTXpress w/o using
MIDI? I looked on the back of the DTXpress II I have and there doesn't
appear to be a standard I/O, 1/4-inch jack or RCA outs? Is there a
process I can use ( direct out into DAW) to capture the DTXpress sounds
into one or more tracks on a simul-sync 4-track DAW (Fostex MR8-HD)?
Are there ways to isolate tracks? Do a submix of the drum parts? We
have a 5-piece band and want to start some recording and I'm trying to
find the best way to capture drums, bass, rhythm guitar and vocals. Any
suggestions are much appreciated!

Just use the two 1/4" jacks on the back marked "OUTPUT" - R & L/MONO.
If you just use the L/MONO one then the DTXpress combines the two
stereo channels into one mono channel. If you also plug a jack into
the R channel then it splits them (it detects the other jack). Note
that the master volume control affects these outputs.

Keith.

Hi Keith,

Cool. Thanks for taking the time to respond. I'll try your suggestions.
One more thing: How would you recommend going into the DAW - go stereo
and split the R & L by panning hard left and hard right, and/or keep it
in the middle, or go MONO onto a single track -- and keep it in the
center of the mix when you get to the mixing stage? Finally what is
your recording background -- home enthusiast, semi-pro, etc.? Thanks!

I have no recording experience whatsoever! - I just know the DTXpress
fairly well. The standard kits are normally set up with a stereo
"image" with hihat to one side, floor tom to the other, other toms
spread around, kick in the centre etc. These setings are under each
voice in each kit. The principle behind that arrangement is to try to
replicate an acoustic kit sound (probably exaggerated a little to the
extreme left & right).

I would suggest you plug the left & right in and record it as it is
and see how you like it. You could then change the postions of the
sounds in the DTXpress to get the balance you like.

Keith.
