DTXpress with Cubase VST 5/32

Hi,
I am using my DTXpress with Cubase 5/32. I am finding that if I
sequence
MIDI from the DTXpress it plays back at the module fine until I try and
transport VST forwards or backwards. At that point the DTXpress
module
starts to sound really muffled, as if all the top and mid has been rolled
off. The
only way to clear it, is to switch off the DTXpress module, and then switch
it on
again. All now works fine until you wind VST back or forwards again.It seem
like
VST is sending a code that the DTXpress cant handle, but I am not sure
what. I am finding
the DTXpress module hard work to hook up to a sequencer. there is always
something
that gets in the way and slows up your work progress. Has anyone thought
about connecting
a different module, say TD6, or Alesis DM5. Would the pads be compatible?
Any thoughts?
