Setup for DTXPress III W/ Pintech heads

Setup for DTXPress III W/ Pintech heads

2007-08-01 by givitup4christ

Does anyone know of the setup for dual zone concercast drum heads for
toms 3,4,&5. I have the rim-shot on my snare, but cannot figure out
the setup for rim-shots on my other toms. The mannual shows even up to
three zones??? Iv'e tried everything except for a bigger hammer!

Help!!!

I don't know how you have managed to get two zones from the
ConcertCast on the DTXpress III (I have both), but the dual zone
ConcertCast has two piezos and the DTXpress needs a single piezo plus
rim switch. There are two ways to use the dual zone ConcertCast pads:
use two inputs per pad or use the "DTXpander" to convert the signals
from two piezos to a single piezo with rim switch (see the files
section for circuits).

I can only assume that the rim shot is working by using the rim piezo
pulse as a "switch" signal. This could potentially blow up the rim
switch input on the module as it is not designed for a piezo signal
(which can reach a fairly high voltage).

Keith.
