Welcome to the Drum Techniques, Concepts, and Discussion Forum!

This is a NEW group. A place for serious discussion, debate, and
study of the different facets of drumming. You will find here
musicians who are able to put into words the techniques and ideas,
both physical and psychological, that we use and can share in our
drumming practice. Basicaly, this will be an archive of ideas that we
can learn and incorporate into our experiemental drumming practices.

For example, one idea: When in involved in conversation we all have
particular ways of saying things, according to what we are talking
about, theese speech patterns funtion in different ways; this can
then be interpreted into a system of patterns on the drums. For
thoose familar with eastern mysticism, a light focus on the vocal
cords while we are playing, as a sort of interpretation of what would
be said in one occasion, into patterns of what here would be drum
tones for words. The results are practical in that speech centers are
markedly improved after playing, as well as a very intresting drum
pattern which when heard conjurs up mutual amazement.

Use this group as an innovative tool to improve your playing style,
and share with others what in your case might be common understanding
but to another a valuable piece of experimentation.

Please start by introducing yourself, and your influences, to the
group.

All members should be free to discuss things openly. As well as to
promote ideas about the scope of this group.
