Not happy with TP65S

Not happy with TP65S

2008-01-31 by imma30

I am looking to replace my TP65S snare pad on my DTXpress III Spec.
Edition drumkit. I am thinking about either the TP100 or the TP120. Is
size the only difference between these two? Also are the TP100 series
better pads than the 65 series? I would welcome any sensible advice on
this decision. Thanks

The TP100 has the mounting bracket on it the TP120 does not and would
require a separate snare stand to hold it. Other than that it will work
fine.

As far as I know, the only difference between the TP100 and TP120 is
the size. Quite a few people use them on the DTXpress. I use the
TP100. The TP120 is larger, but I thought would probably be a bit
big, although it would be easier to fit onto a standard snare stand
without pushing it too high or having to modify the stand.

They have a slightly different feel to the TP65, but not much
different. The rim is slightly more raised which I prefer. They have
an easily accessible volume control which is handy, and a red knob
that will do nothing on the DTXpress I, II or III, but will work on
the DTXpress IV.

I haven't heard anyone complain about them and they are reasonably
priced so go for it!

Keith.
