Arief,
I have never played a DTXplorer so I don't know how the sounds
compare. The DTXplorer only has a Midi OUT, not Midi IN. The
DTXplorer only has 9 inputs compared to the DTXpress having 10. Only
one DTXplorer input is 3 zone and two are dual zone compared to 8 dual
zone on the DTXpress I. I don't think the DTXpress I has a 3 zone
input. The DTXplorer has considerably fewer voices (192 compared to
910 on the DTXpress) but what it does have may sound better.
The pads on an old kit are more likely to be "worn". While they are
generally very reliable, eventually the foam breaks down in the kick
pad, the rubber surface can wear and the rim switches can degrade.
You can download the manuals here

yourself.
