Rim shot sound without a dual zone pad???

Rim shot sound without a dual zone pad???

2001-10-26 by michael.laterza@abbott.com

Either I just am not looking hard enough or I need a little
assistance, but I am unable to get a rimshot sound programmed into my
single zone pad. Eventually, I will be purchasing a dual zone pad,
so I can simulate the snare drum with rimshot, but for now I am
having difficult finding a rimshot sound. Can anybody help me?
Thanks.

Mike

Try adjusting the pitch, tuning your chosen snare sound higher and put it in
with your chosen snare as the 2nd sound on the pad. Then set a different
velocity (x-fade function) for it (softer works for me) and you have
yourself a mock-dual-zone snare.
Also works for putting a "bell" sound on the ride cymbal...

none of the kit rimshots to your liking in the snare
settings?

or are you trying to get a snare sound AND a rim on
the same pad?

I am just looking to have one pad dedicated to a rimshot sound, but
the ones in the presets which are what you would hear if you had a
dual-zone pad didn't exactly sound like a true rimshot. Oh well.
