roland fd 7 to yamaha dtxpress module 1 or 3

2009-07-26 by aliasbedok

There was a mentioned that it will not work,I am now stuck with it.I have made the Yamaha module hi hat controller stereo to mono(the fd 7 uses a mono jack)There was an open sound but the controller does not work,I reversed the stereo jack and it make no sound at all.Would a reverse polarity work?I bought the fd 7 on ebay and tested it on a roland module and it does work.
Thanks for any help and I am from Singapore(the land of the banned chewing gum)

I am afraid it will not work. The Yamaha pedal uses a stereo connector with high resistance, the Roland has a mono connector and low resistance.

You may be able to use the hardware of the Roland to make a pedal for the Yamaha.

Keith.
