New - Yamaha DTX Multi 12

Probably not of much interest to people on this group (maybe if it was half the price) but anyway, Yamaha have unveiled some competition for the Roland SPD-S.

Keith,

The new DTX Multi 12 has a whole bunch more features than the Roland
SPD-S. For instance it has 1,024 sounds in it, it has 3 more pads, 5
trigger inputs. I like the built in mounting system, all you have to
do is mount it on yamaha's tom arms. Roland you have to buy the APC-33
system for the SPS-S. The list price is $899 so it will be a lot less
than that. With new sps-s, apc-33 and cf card you probably spend close
to $600 for it and accessories. To me the new dtx multi 12 is more for
the.money. Even if have to spend a little more . I like it and
interested in it. I would be interested in buying it has alot of sound
than my dtxplorer module. I just might sell parts of my dtxplorer kit
and get it. It is good that Yamaha is fianlly coming out with multipad
unit. Majority all the electronic drum manufacturers have one out. It
will be good competition for Roland now drummers won't have to go with
Roland. That just.my two cents worth.

Ron,

I agree the Yamaha Multi12 is a lot better value than the Roland SPD, but in the UK it costs as much as a DTXpress kit. Maybe it is aimed at DTXtreme users!
