couple problems

couple problems

2010-01-21 by CJ

As if the midi problems aren't giving me enough trouble, I've got two new problems. I figured I'd start a new topic just to make searches easier...
Anyway, I can't control my click volume. Regardless of whether I press/hold or do nothing to the shift button, I can only control my kick pedal volume.
Second is my 3 tom's suddenly dropped in volume to where they're barely audible. This is true for all kits.

You're having a bad day, aren't you!?

I think you have set your volume mode to "live". That changes the operation of the volume controls. Page 30 of the reference manual for the DTXpress III (I cannot remember what your module is). Press the Util button until you see UT then scroll through to UT System VolMode=live and change it to "practice".

A system reset would fix problems like that, but also lose all your custom settings. I had better not mention you can back them up over MIDI... :(

See which of the problems that fixes - if it doesn't fix them all, let me know.

Keith.

ahahaha! awesome keith, thanks a lot! I would've never thought of that. I purposely set the volume mode to live... The way I understood things, it just made things louder, I didn't realize I changed certain functions. Click volume control works now. As for the Tom's, well they came back to normal volume once I turned it off and on. Must've just been a weird thing.

Now to figure out this midi $#T##$)*%$ !! :)

Glad it's now working. I cannot remember exactly what changes with "live" mode, but it is covered in the reference manual.

Maybe Ruffalo2003 & Jono W might be able to help - they seem to know a lot more than me about MIDI (doesn't take much doing).

Keith.

Haha, yeah I took the advice and tried harmony-central. Lots of responses, no solutions yet.
