Anyone come accross a circuit to count BPM, perhaps using a piezo for the input?

Not really an answer to you question, but I have one of these. http://www.topdjgear.com/greybpbeatco.html

Works well - just plug it in the DTXpress output.

Keith.

I wasn't sure if you were wanting to build your own. The Grey one is usually sold for DJs for some reason that is beyond me. Something to do with them needing to mix the speed of one record with the next one.

Keith,

Building one would have been fun... but the Grey BPM is definitley the concept is was looking for. I also found, FWIW, several software BPM Counters. Hadn't thought to go that route but found a VST called BeatCounter (by Teragon Audio) that works in real time. I tried it with Reaper and it works pretty good. It even matched the Metronome I played along with to test accuracy. I patched into Reaper using the DTX's right stereo out to the microphone in and armed a track, punched up the FX, and it works w/o needing to hit record. Pretty much does what I need to do and the best part, it's free. Of course, now I need to carry my laptop around but did I mention it was free....

Maybe this help someone else looking for similar functionality.

Regards,
Chris

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
