Piezo problems..

Piezo problems..

2011-07-22 by bigbearstyx

Having an issue with using a pintech concercast snare with my
DTXpress II module. Also having issues with a dual (piezo) diy mesh tom. RIM will not sound. I'm hearing the yamaha module is or may not be piezoâ†' piezo but piezoâ†' switch..Where can I find out the correct info. I scoured the manuals.! help.!

The Pintech ConcertCast uses two piezos. The Yamaha modules use a single piezo plus a rim switch to get two zones. So, putting the dual zone ConcertCast into a normal "stereo" input won't work. You have two choices - use two inputs with a Y splitter (stereo in - dual mono out) or use the DTXpander circuit. You can build one yourself - details here: http://www.dtxpander.co.uk/

Sorry for the self promotion, but it is one solution!

Keith.
