yamaha cymbal stopper

2013-06-07 by drummerone13

Hi, I cannot locate what is called a cymbal stopper. It comes with the original dtxpress. It is attached to the cymbal stand and the rod goes through the 2nd hole in the cymbal (not where you attach the cymbal to the stand) I have looked and called everywhere. Most of the people I talked to did not know what I was talking about. Again this sight has been so helpful. I hope someone can point me in the right direction.
Thank you in advance again. John

I think the part number is WK371500 (at least it is for the PCY135). In theory you can order from http://www.yamaha24x7.com/ in the USA. It might be worth trying to check the part number with Yamaha before ordering in case it is a different size for your cymbal.

Or, try somewhere like http://www.rmcaudiodirect.com/Yamaha-Cymbal-Stopper-for-PCY135-and-PCY155-p/vu424400.htm

Keith, where are you getting part numbers from? I'm looking for replacement nuts and wing bolts for my DTXpress III, I followed your link to Yamaha, chose 'search parts' and the dropdown is empty.

John,

I didn't spot it was you otherwise I wouldn't have sent USA links! Thomann used to be the best place for parts but I cannot see the stopper on there.

I have the service manuals for some of the Yamaha components and it lists "spare parts". I think the wing nuts, felt and washers are the same fitting as standard acoustic hardware so a normal drum shop should be able to help with that.

In the UK, http://stores.ebay.co.uk/LondonTradingPost is worth a look. Even if he doesn't list the part you need, it may be worth asking him.
