2001-12-26 by malakies2000

Hello everyone,

i've been saving since birth and finally have enough cash to spend on
the new DTXpress. my question is whether anybody here knows of any
good dealers in the UK. I'm based in london but am more than willing
to travel to save some cash. any other advice for a 1st time buyer is
also much appretiated.

merry xmas and all that

Hi Pete,

Try Academy Of Sound. I have bought shed loads of gear from them, including my DTXpress and have always received good deals and fantastic service. They r currently selling the DTXpress at £749 altho' u'll have 2 shell out xtra 4 the kick pedal and stool as Yamaha don't supply these as standard.
They have branches in Glasgow, Leeds, Leicester, Manchester, Norwich (My local !), Nottingham, Preston, Sheffield, Stoke-on-Trent, Derby and a Mail Order Dept. available on 0800 634 2202. U can also try www.academyofsound.net .
Hope this is of help, and welcome 2 the club ! ;o)

Merry Xmas,

Rob.

hey cool on saving the cash for dtxpress(they're definatelty worth
the money for such a versatile drum kit. i've seen afew of these
selling on ebay, and shipping doesn't go for too much. but you want to
make sure that if you're putting out a bit of loot for one you want
to get the newer version, and not one that has been around for
awhile.. i'm sure that walt(a.k.a. mr. dtxpress!! (lol) ) will see
this post of yours ,and post more details about the newer version for
you to check out!!

good luck with your purchase, and be sure to buckle up for a wild ride
ahead once you get one of these sweet kits!!!!

[DTXPRESS] Rims

2001-12-27 by MARIO MARIO

I've never dealt with rim shots on this kit before and
I was flippkin through the manual and found to go to
voice-rim 2(or whatever drum) and then to enable the
rim when you hit pge down a few times. Then I go back
and selevt a voice for the rim. I did that and it
didn't work. Can I even play rim shots on the
standard drums that come with my DTXpress, or do I
need some attachment. Can someone help me out?

Hi There,

I remember some posts not too long ago (3 - 6 months)
discussing this topic, but I'm not sure I remember the
outcome. You may want to try some creative searches
of the posts to see if you can find it.

What I do know is that the TP60 pads that come with
the DTXpress are single trigger pads, which is
different than the TP80S pads that have a rim trigger.
I have replaced many of my TP60 pads with the TP80S
pads so I can get different sounds from the main part
and rim. Hope this helps, Walt
