Yamaha TMX and hi-hat ??

Yamaha TMX and hi-hat ??

2002-03-24 by kronispass

Hi! I just got hold of an ol´TMX module for close to nothing.
Now I wonder if the hi-hat input on the TMX are compatible with the
HH80A, or any of the newer Yamaha HH-pedals? Am I able to get all the
nuances that the new HH80A offers or are the TMX module only capable
of recognizing open or closed HH ??

Regards
Kronisse

Hi Kronisse,

Here's a useful, if somewhat dated, web site on the basic profiles
of various modules: http://www.ifx.net/~karow/mod.htm. In case the
page doesn't work, the TMX's HH nuance capability is listed, like
that of the DTX.2 (described as new at the time), as "CV-full."
However, the TMX seems to have other liabilities that place it at a
significant disadvantage relative to newer brains--principally user
adjustability. I have no firsthand experience with it.
